Just a short little update today as I finally found a better use for my pretty pretty tiered cupcake stand.  It was such a beautiful wedding gift that I thought it a waste waiting on my not-so-frequently made cupcakes so instead I decided to use it for jewelry and as you can see it works a treat!

A brand new shiny blog!

I have no idea where to start or what to say except that I somehow felt the urge to create my own blog. I have no idea why and until recently I had no idea what to blog, I was never one for keeping a diary but always one for scrap-booking. So I guess a blog is like an online mixture of the too, which suits me!

I spend HOURS on end reading decorating blogs, art blogs, photography blogs and general homemaking blogs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a home maker, stay-at-home mum or a photographer. Nor do I own a fabulous big house to decorate. I am a wife to an avid surfer. I playfully call myself a surfing widow.....

Although I'm not a mother, I am a mum...if ya know what I mean?! I am an adoring owner of the most beautiful Golden Retriever Ireland has ever seen! Coco, our golden girl......

As a hobby I enjoy taking photos and making, baking and decorating things for our home. Our home is very modest and not really big enough or of the right design for all the decorating and making I'd prefer to be doing with it but I do what I can to make it a cosy and interesting home and in the meantime I am ADDICTED to Pinterest, where I spend hours visualising our home for the future! As an art teacher I like to think of work as an extension of my hobbies so you will hopefully read quite a bit about projects happening with my kids at school. Here's a sneak peak....

Print-making
Mixed-media
I also do lots of art facilitation with the community. Here's some examples of my work with early years groups....

And work with school-going children during summer camps.....

And finally the older community...

So I hope that between my art class, home decorating and general making there will be lots of reasons to come back as well as lots of reason to keep me on my toes!
